I wanted to create a repository of selected photos from the many photoshoots I have managed over the years.
My colleagues needed to have easy access to images in order to move projects along on their own. I had already cropped, color-corrected and retouched many of the images, but I needed to find the best way to make them easily accessible to everyone.
With the help of some very smart people, we created a blog site that allowed me to share and archive the images online.
The first was an online photo gallery.
This gallery contains more than 4,000 images, organized by category. We updated the site whenever possible, and as requests came in for a specific type of image. We got hundreds of visitors to the site every month, mostly from people wanting to download their own selections. We also provided a public access area for the news media and other outside vendors. The online gallery became a very valuable resource.
